EMO Hannover 2019, 16. bis 21. September

Dear Delegates,

EMO Hannover 2019 was the highlight of this year. As Dr Feichtl, CECIMO President, underlined during the opening ceremony, "EMO is a unique occasion where excellence and innovation in the machine tool sector are displayed in all their forms. EMO is the place where innovative solutions are unveiled at the global level and serves as a key opportunity for networking".

Geopolitical challenges for the European MT industry

CECIMO held its Press Conference on 16 September to present, to a full room, the geopolitical outlook for the machine tool sector. While some issues worry our companies, such as Brexit and the United States-China trade war, there are quite a few international developments that represent an opportunity, like the trade deals with Mercosur and Vietnam. In this context, nevertheless, our members are demonstrating how the manufacturing businesses continuously improve their productivity by investing in advanced digital systems and highly innovative technologies, even when economic perspectives seem unclear...

EU DAY AND BILATERAL MEETINGS WITH INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATIONS

On 18 September, European Commission (EC) and World Economic Forum (WEF) representatives discussed together with our members important issues for our sector, and visited the booths of some of our members. The feedback we received from the officials was positive: they appreciated the exchange of views and the close look at machine tools - how they work, how we produce them and what challenges we face.

During that week, we also had the chance to hold bilateral meetings with MT associations at the international level, in order to foster relations and exchange data.
