Currently, more than three-quarters of companies in the EU face difficulties in finding the necessary skilled workforce since about 44% of adults undertake training on a regular basis, according to Eurostat figures[1].

Joint Statement – access to data by public bodies: a double-edge tool to use with caution and restraint

Between and March and May 2023, CECIMO organized the sixth round of its European Additive Manufacturing Survey, which aims to assess key market trends in the Additive Manufacturing (AM) sector. It is a six-month survey that helps the industry record trend indications for key business areas, such as domestic business, AM exports, orders by type of material, client industry demand and investment trend. 3D printing companies express their six-month indications in the key business areas compared to the situation over the past six months. 
EU PROJECTS UPDATES

EARASHI's Open Call 1 recently concluded on May 12th, attracting enthusiastic proposals from across Europe. The submissions showcased innovative solutions aligned with EARASHI's building blocks and addressed identified challenges. Over the next months, the proposals will undergo a thorough evaluation process, with results expected by the end of July. The EARASHI Consortium expresses its gratitude for the applications received and is already making preparations for the launch of the Second Open Call, furthering their commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration. CECIMO Brussels Forum (limited seats available)

The next CECIMO Brussels Forum formerly referred to as CECIMO Fall Meetings, will take place in Brussels on 6 – 7 December 2023. We proudly announce the first edition of the CECIMO Machine Tools Innovation Awards (MTI Awards), a competition that convenes and recognises the biggest innovations in the Machine Tool Sector. The Awards ceremony will take place during the Forum.

CECIMO Spring Meetings

CECIMO Spring Meetings 2023, hosted by MiB (Makina İmalatçıları Birliği), Turkish Machine Manufacturers took place in Antalya, Türkiye between 06-09 May 2023. The four days programme consisted of a variety of strategic meetings focusing on the future roadmap of the machine tool sector. In addition, an interesting social programme allowed participants to discover the hidden treasures of Antalya.

CECIMO, together with AMT - The Association For Manufacturing Technology organised a trade mission to Silicon Valley that included visits to top companies like Meta, Rapid Robotics, Lumafield, Autodesk etc. The delegation was impressed by these innovative solutions that are revolutionizing the manufacturing industry and transforming the way we work.

CECIMO at TCT360, Birmingham

During the TCT3Sixty in Birmingham, the Chairman of the CECIMO Additive Manufacturing Committee, Stewart Lane, gave an overview of the policy initiatives impacting the AM sector and the CECIMO expectations on the growth of AM solutions in the next years.

CECIMO Director of Public Affairs, Vincenzo Belletti, spoke at the EFM (European Forum for Manufacturing)

Our Director of Public Affairs gave a talk at the EFM, focusing on how the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive seems to be asking EU corporations to know every aspect of their value chain and solve complex dynamics embedded in the economic, industrial, cultural aspect of different countries. Policymakers need to focus on what is realistically achievable and consider that companies want to be a part of the solution to achieve more sustainable supply chains.
