EU projects
CECIMO is involved in several European projects. We cooperate with research centres, associations, universities and companies, in areas of strategic importance for the competitiveness and the further development of our sector such as skills and new technologies.
Ongoing Projects
JARVIS, a 4-year project supported by the Horizon Europe Programme, is dedicated to advancing human-robot collaboration through user-centric principles. The project unites 16 organisations from diverse regions of Europe to enable AI-driven multimodal interaction between humans and robots. Key objectives encompass the – development of interfaces for Physical and Remote Information Exchange, Robot Control, and Programming; – providing social skills in robotic platforms; – developing cognitive and intelligent mechatronics; – and demonstrating scalability for widespread application and economic efficiency by offering support to companies, especially SMEs and start-ups, in implementing industrial Human-Robot Interaction (HRI) solutions.
EARASHI –EMBODIED AI/ROBOTICS APPLICATIONS FOR A SAFE, HUMAN-ORIENTED INDUSTRY In the context of the new strategic framework for Health and Safety at Work proposed by the EC in 2021 (to protect the health and safety of its 170 million workers and achieve sustained decent working conditions), EARASHI aims to improve working conditions, trust, and acceptance of collaborative embodied AI in robotic systems. This will be achieved by supporting Industry, especially start-ups, and SMEs, in the uptake of advanced digital and eco-responsible technologies (in particular AI, data, and robotics).
The project intends to identify and define the labour market skills for the digital and green transitions in six critical industrial sectors for the EU, including Automotive, Energy, Batteries, Defence, Maritime, and Additive Manufacturing (AM). This set of green curricula and innovative training practices will serve as a basis for Education organisations to establish a network of Green Education Providers. By creating this network, the GREEN Project is taking proactive measures to equip the European workforce with the necessary skills and knowledge to address the challenges that impact the world of work and move towards a sustainable future.
PeneloPe proposes a novel methodology linking product-centric data management and production planning and scheduling in a closed-loop digital pipeline for ensuring an accurate and precise manufacturability from the initial product design. The major goal is to develop a novel closed-loop digital pipeline based on the development of modular and reconfigurable production approach for the manufacturing of high-precision large-scale parts. This solution will be implemented, benchmarked and demonstrated in industrial pilot lines, in real manufacturing conditions, in oil and gas, shipbuilding, aeronautics and bus and coach.
CECIMO is partner of DIMOFAC, a project funded by H2020, which will run from October 2019 to 2023. DIMOFAC project deals with the impact of digitalisation in the manufacturing environment. It will enable the modularity, adaptability and responsiveness of a production line by integrating Plug-and-Produce modules in a Closed-Loop Lifecycle Management System. It will therefore support continuous production adaptation, optimization and improvement, in a fast and flexible manner.
